I am trying to grow sideburns.

Also, I'm well on pace to finish my handle of tequila in 4 nights. If you're wondering, I took tonight off to do a problem set. If you're still wondering, ask me sometime about Tequila Week.

12:02 am - Multiple choice time
1. Today a friend and I entertained ourselves for 20 minutes by throwing a hammer at a door. This was fun and rewarding because:
(a) The door is made of cardboard.
(b) After several attempts, I managed to throw the hammer all the way through the door.
(c) The door happens to be to a room where beautiful women take off their clothes.
(d) All of the above.

02:25 am - What a good day.
Today I:

  • Went to class. Not too proud about that, but there it is. We derived Heisenberg's uncertainty principle, if that counts.

  • Went to the Metallica/Rolling Stones concert. Everclear opened. It was fucking incredible. Also, these two guys right next to us were smoking weed literally the entire 5 hour concert, with breaks no longer than 5 minutes. I was very impressed.

  • Filled in a pothole.

  • Built a 5' tall Stonehenge replica (one set of standing stones; don't get too excited) out of bricks. Pictures may be forthcoming.

If anybody cares, tomorrow I will:

  • Play a rally for Cal and Stanford alums over lunch at the Fairmont Hotel in SF.

  • Steal a tiki cup from said hotel.

  • Be piled at field rehearsal, since I am now librarian for the Band.

  • Work at Google for 5 hours.

  • Play a rally onstage in front of thousands of people in MemAud.

  • Not go to class.

It's amusing, when you've been online for many hours late at night, to watch the progression of people slowly signing off/going away, then coming back on. This at 7:41 EDT, so it hasn't yet gotten in full swing. On the other hand, my parents have been at work for an hour.

Also, for the record, I haven't actually been sitting at my computer for the past twelve hours. I've been in and out of my room, packing my entire life into boxes, that sort of thing. (Made one last trip to In-N-Out, which I'll be missing over the next few months.)

Coming home on Thursday. Woot.

12:11 am - College Life
So Fish called me today to say that he somehow got some deal with the people at Academic Superstore to get us (the web team) as a featured cover article dealie in their catalog. So since he can't take pictures of us (me, Jack, Neil) at McDonogh, he wanted stuff in a "typical university setting." So I couldn't think of anything more typical than this:

In case you were wondering, I did send this to him. Heather told me he'd find it amusing, so my fingers are crossed on not getting fired.

I should post more. I mean, once every two or three months is really not a lot. Better than some, certainly, but still not a lot.
So, along those lines. How are people from McDonogh doing? I trust you all have wonderfully interesting lives...

I apologize profusely for not updating in several months. There is not much original I can say about the college life I have had thus far, and I'm sure you're tired of such clichéd bullshit. Sorry...
I feel like I should expound on the unique experiences I've had nonetheless. Most of these I think are associated with college basketball.
I have told certain people that I am not coming home for spring break. This is because of my various commitments to Band. Every NCAA basketball team (minus that sad few) has a band associated with it. It is my goal to be in that band for each Stanford basketball team. So, with the Band, I end up going to such exotic locales as LA, Charlotte NC, Fresno, and Kansas City MO.
I have slept in my bed once in the last ten days, the rest having been consumed by these trips. Such is why I have not been home to hang out with you guys, though I really would like to.

It saddens me to think that I will not be in Maryland—ever—for more than a few weeks at a stretch after this summer.

  • This week is Big Game Week. That means Saturday is the game against Cal. That also means that I spend an average of 7 hours a day with the band over 7 days.

  • Half-Life 2 came out today, or, more correctly, at midnight last night. Despite having negative free time this week, I managed to get in almost 4 hours last night. This game, in conjunction with Big Game Week, will destroy both my body and soul.

So yeah, I definitely haven't posted in a long time. Go fuck yourself. If you really want to know what's going on in my life, talk to me online, and I'd be happy to tell you.
That said, I have something funny to relate that happened this morning.
If you can't tell by my icon, I'm in the Band, a.k.a the LSJUMB. So the tradition at field rehearsal (when we go over field shows) is that when the section leader, let's call him "Eric Wooley," plays the solo in the Star Spangled Banner, other people play crazy pranks on him. So today, a couple of enterprising trombones ("bones") emptied a bag of live crickets into his shirt and pants.
As a result, Wooley decided to take off his shirt and pants, since I imagine crickets can get quite itchy. He was promptly shanked by a tuba player ("tööb").
The best part of all this was that there was a Fox Sports cameraman filming our entire rehearsal. He was maybe ten feet away from Wooley (in the front) when this happened.

  • The 12" PowerBook is very nice, especially for under $1500.

  • I got my fourth-generation 20 GB iPod for $69 after rebates. It's ok, I know you're jealous
